A developer’s kit for a new open source game platform.
Don’t call it Arduboy Color!
This raw circuit board is the quickest path to development. With components clearly labeled along with their functional groups, as well as the complete GPIO breakout is available on the board silkscreen.
CHGame is much a hacking tool as it is a game development platform, with a complete set of GPIO, I2C and UART available on the expansion port.
The final design will include a complete case, but with a new design aesthetic to the Arduboy. Stay wired for future revisions — including a 3d printed prototype case.
At least not yet…
The CHGame System is an attempt to push the boundaries of the lowest cost open-source game system.
Specifications:
CH32X035G8U6 — 48Mhz 32-bit RISC-V Microprocessor w/ DMA & PIO
ST7735 1.44” Color LCD — 16-bit 128×128px
Micro-SD Card Slot
8 Tactile Buttons
User LED
Piezo Speaker
Expansion Port
200mAh Lithium Polymer Battery Included
These first units are priced to help fund the development of the platform. The hardware is explicitly designed to become dramatically cheaper at scale. Every early purchase helps justify a larger next batch with a lower price.
The goal is simple: make a genuinely capable game platform that almost anyone can afford.
